The Fundación Brunet at the Public University of Navarre created the Jaime Brunet Prizes in 1998 to promote and disseminate the protection of human rights and contribute to the eradication of degrading and inhumane treatment, and situations which violate the inherent right to dignity. The prize has been awarded every year ever since.
