The University

Campus

Public University of Navarre’s teaching and researching activity is developed in three campuses, two of them located in Pamplona, and the other one in Tudela.

Arrosadia campus, by Franciso Javier Sáenz de Oiza, is located in the South of Pamplona. Most of UPNA's activity takes place in it. In Pamplona is also the Health campus, located in the hospital area of town, which makes it easier for health degrees students to carry out internships.

The Tudela campus is located in the capital of Navarre’s Ribera region. Its facilities are in the South area of town.

Campus

Arrosadia Campus is located in the South area of Pamplona, and takes up a 757,000 m2 area. A wide tree-lined boulevard links the Teaching Block (Aulario), at one end of campus, and the Chancellor's office building, at the other end. Right in the middle of campus is the largest building, the Library, and on both sides of it are the department buildings.

Architect Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza (1918-2000) designed the campus as a system of buildings which foster work, study and relations among the university community members. In its wide green areas, numerous plant species live together with sculptures which are part of UPNA's artistic heritage.

Next to the workshop building is NAITEC, technology centre of automotion and mechatronics.

El Sario building, in the South of the campus, was built before the university. Among other facilities, it includes Fernando Remacha hall, with seating capacity for 600 people, where academic ceremonies, congresses and other scientific gatherings take place.

Services and facilities

The rural property for agricultural research, located behind El Sario building, takes up a little over 30,000 m2 - nearly 6,000 of them have been built to house structures such as greenhouses, cold chambers, laboratories, machinery warehouse, offices and changing rooms. Students of Agronomy degrees carry out their practices at the rural property, which is also used as a support for the research and development projects on agricultural topics that are developed at university.

University Pavilion

The University Pavilion  is a multi-sports venue located in the UPNA sports facilities

UPNA counts on a hall of residence, Los Abedules, which offers 250 places. The hall is located in Arrosadia Campus, next to the sport facilities.

Outside Arrosadia Campus, next to the sport facilities, is the Mutilva Biotechnology building, focused on research.

Green campus

Lime and maple trees line up along Arrosadia Campus, a privileged place where garden areas pair with the buildings designed by Sáenz de Oiza. They are outdoors leisure and meeting areas and offer a broad sample of vegetable species from the five continents. The campus houses 89 different tree species and a dozen of significant bush species, all of them identified in the work “Campus verde: guía de la vegetación de la Universidad Pública de Navarra (Green campus - guide to vegetation of PUblic University of Navarre)".

Art campus

Art and vegetation live together at Arrosadia Campus. Many sculptures outdoors spread out there, such as “Encuentro” by Clemente Ochoa, chairing the Library terrace; "Esfera rota", by Faustino Aizcorbe, near the Chancellor's office building; "Partición del espacio por oposición de dos diedros", with which Jorge Oteiza honoured his friend Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza, or "Doctor Martín de Azpilicueta", by Néstor Basterretxea. Sculptures are part of UPNA's artistic heritage, which consists of over a hundred works.
