Bachelor's degree curricular internships

National internships

What they consist of

  • External curricular internships are a compulsory subject which is taught in the eighth term.
  • They are implemented in the Justice Administration area, through court sessions held in small groups supervised by judges and lawyers of the Justice Administration.
  • Each group of students develop between three and four sessions in each of the law courts (civil, criminal, labour and contentious-administrative).
  • Attendance to sessions are complemented with in-person sessions at UPNA, which focus on developing complementary training activities related to professional activity.

  • From ghe 1st of January, 2024, the Social Security contributions of all internship students are mandatory.
  • Every student is responsible for informing of any change or issue on the calendar of their internship. This communication will take place via the ConnectUPNA mailbox.

What they consist of

  • Curricular external Internships are a subject developed in the eighth terms in the Labour Consultancy at Companies (external internships at companies) or Human Resources Direction (external internships at law firms) itineraries.
  • They involve contact with the professional reality under direct supervision, carried out both in the internship centre and at university.

  • Every student is responsible for informing of any change or issue on the calendar of their internship. This communication will take place via the ConnectUPNA mailbox.

*Time periods of procedures for curricular internships are susceptible to be delayed until the international and companies and consultancies places assignment procedures have been resolved. 
Students who decide to apply for curricular+extracurricular procedure may not take place in the curricular internship assignment, unless they have not been offered a destination.
 **The academic record calculation is performed according to the criteria established at UPNA for international mobility academic record calculation following this formula. To calculate the academic record all subjects passed up to the first term of the 5th year will be included:

(∑(mark x no of credits of the subject))/(∑(no of times the marked subject appears x no of credits of the subject))
The following will not be considered:
•    Not-sat marks
•    Pass/Fail marks.

International internships

The Erasmus+ programme’s goal is to carry out both kinds of internships (curricular and extracurricular) in companies and institutions from countries member of the European Union.

Requirements

  • To have registered for the university degree the general and/or cross-curricular competencies and specific competencies are linked to.
  • To have passed at least 50% of the credits that appear in the degree syllabus.
  • To not have any contract relation with the public or private company, institution or entity where the internship is to take place.
  • To meet the requirements for each position.

What they consist of

  • Around 7 internships are offered in different types of organisations that develop their work in various economic sectors internationally.
  • They take place between September and December.
  • It is 400 hours long.

Who they target

  • The internships are offered to complete compulsory subjects 177832 Law Internship and 177833 Business Management Internship of students in the International Programme of the Double Degree in Management, Business Administration and Law.
  • In the case that not all the places offered to International Programme students are filled, students of the double degree may take part until subjects are completed.
  • The internships could also complete subjects 175832 Law Internship and 175833 Business Management Internship of students of the Double Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration and Law.

Requirements to take part

  • Certify a B2 level in a foreign language (English, French or German).
  • The Erasmus timer must mark 8 months maximum.

Participants’ selection criteria

  • Students interested in carrying out curricular internships abroad must apply in the Faculty of Law sending an e-mail with their application and the documents:
    • Certificate which proves the required language level.
    • CV in the language they preferably wish to carry out the internship in.
    • Cover letter (around 200 words) explaining the reasons why they wish to carry out a curricular internship abroad.
  • Applying to carry out these kinds of internships rules out the possibility to take part in any other national curricular internship, with the exception of the following cases:
    • The student is not selected by the Faculty to take part
    • The student is not selected by an international company during the established period
  • The selection of participants in the programme will be made in strict order of academic record, following the calculation system below: (∑(Mark x no of credits of the subject))/(∑(no of times the subject appears marked x no of credits of the subject)). Subjects marked “Absent” or “Pass / Fail” will not be considered.
  • International Programme students will have priority in the selection. In the case that places are left vacant, the assignment process will be repeated for students of the Double Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration and Law Spanish group.

Assignment process

  • The list of selected students for the programme will be published on the Faculty web on 15 February 2024.
  • From the publication to 26 February, selected students must send to the Faculty e-mail a message accepting their participation in the programme and expressly authorising the transfer of their CV, cover letter and personal and academic data tu FUS and entities offering internships in this programme. In the case that any student fails to meet this requirement, they will become excluded from the programme, and those students who applied to take part and were excluded will be immediately contacted in order.
  • Once the participants have been selected, the Faculty of Law will entrust the University-Society Foundation (FUS) with finding destinations for international internships for those people who have not presented their own destinations. They will find destination which, in line with the subjects’ training programme, match as well as possible the proposal of each organisation with the profile of each selected student. The time period for this search will finish in all cases before the national curricular internships assignment meeting..
  • The signing of the internship agreement will take place in person at FUS, where the selected candidates will be informed of the fundamental questions related to the agreement to be signed.
