Breve descripción
Electromagnetic phenomena (governed by Maxwell equations) and magnetisation dynamics (governed by the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation) can be coupled via a time-varying macroscopic magnetisation in realistic scenarios that involve magnetic materials. Typically, both phenomena are individually simulated using commercial software, involving a two-step process where the uncoupled equations are solved sequentially. Even when considering magnetization dynamics within the models, this approach is standard for scenarios like microwave devices that incorporate magnetic materials such as ferrites, but also in any application involving electromagnetic radiation onto magnetic structures, powders or substances.
In this course we will show the basics of software tool MaxLLGTM, a micromagnetic package that solves Maxwell equations coupled to the LLG equation, and perform hands-on exercises on two example scenarios. The version we will use runs on windows PC, and an installation package and a guide will be provided to the attendees in advance after registration.
