Access requirements

In order to access an official doctoral degree students must hold a Spanish official Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, and University Master's degree, or equivalent, provided they have passed at least 300 ECTS counting both degrees.

Specific criteria of the programme

The Academic Commission will assess each candidate on the basis of objectivity, impartiality, merit and capacity principles.

The following aspects of the CV will be considered:
 

  • The adequacy of the degree which grants them access to the doctoral degree, regarding the object of the research they wish to prepare their doctoral thesis about. (Maximum 25%), as follows:
    • Degree included in the recommended admission profile: 25 %
    • Degree included in other access profiles: 15 %
  • Bachelor's and master’s degrees academic records or former degree (licenciatura) of the candidate (maximum 40%), as follows:
    • Bachelor's degree (30%) and Master’s degree (10%)
      Former degree (licenciatura) (40%).
  • Previous researching experience  (10%): conferences, publications, projects.
  • Previous mobility actions  (10%): stays in research centres, conference attendance, publications, collaboration with research projects.
  • Foreign language skills, according to the number of certified languages and candidate’s skills (maximum 15%). If more than one certificate is submitted, the one with highest level will be assessed only once, as follows:
    • C1 (15%)
    • B2 (10%)
    • B1 (5%)

To be admitted to the program, students must obtain a minimum of 60% in the overall assessment of the previous sections. If the number of applications exceeds the number of available places, priority will be given to students who have obtained a higher score.

For students with specific educational needs derived from disability, systems and procedures will be established that include appropriate support and advisory services, which will assess the need for possible curricular adaptations, itineraries, or alternative studies. Admission will not, under any circumstances, imply any modification of the academic and, if applicable, professional effects corresponding to the previous degree held by the applicant, nor its recognition for purposes other than pursuing Doctoral studies.

 

As a general rule, to access this doctoral program, it is necessary to hold official Spanish bachelor's degrees, or their equivalent, and a master's degree, with degrees in the branches of knowledge of Industrial Sciences and Technologies, included within the UNESCO codes (11, 12, 22, 23, 25, 31, and 33).

This profile also includes holders of doctoral degrees and graduates who have the correspondence certificate of their architect, engineer, or bachelor's degree to level 3 of the Spanish Qualification Framework for Higher Education. It is essential that the correspondence of the degree has been published in the BOE (Spanish Official Gazette).

A candidate for the doctoral program in Industrial Sciences and Technologies gains access by having completed the official research master's degrees offered by the School of Industrial & ICT Engineering (ETSIIIT) and the School of Agricultural Engineering and Biosciences (ETSIAB) of Public University of Navarre.

Additional profiles which may be considered similar are defined - they will require training complements.

Students who can access doctoral studies through any of the pathways outlined in RD 99/2011, whose training has not been exactly developed in Industrial Sciences and Technology branches of knowledge listed in the UNESCO codes for the recommended entry profile (11, 12, 22, 23, 25, 31, and 33).

They must supplement their training and/or experience profile with additional training courses aimed at providing their profile with the appropriate direction.
