Access requirements

In order to access an official doctoral degree students must hold a Spanish official Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, and University Master's degree, or equivalent, provided they have passed at least 300 ECTS credits counting both of them.

Specific criteria of the programme

The Academic Commission of the Doctoral degree in Health Sciences will examine the applications and decide on admissions taking the following aspects into account:

  • Academic record and CV of the candidate (up to 60% of the final valuation). To this end, the following will be considered:.
    • Bachelor's and master's degree academic records (40%).
    • Publications related to the doctoral programme topic (7%).
    • Communications in conferences related to the doctoral programme topic (7%).
    • Training courses related to the doctoral programme lines (3%).
    • Other merits such as previous experience in research, awards received, advanced analysis techniques management, grants obtained in competitive calls, or any other proven merit (3%).

 

  • Adequacy of the degree of access related to the thesis research line (40%). In this section the doctoral student’s coherence and knowledge level in the specific field they are interested in, will be valued.

It will be necessary to obtain at least 60% of the total valuation to access the programme.

Line 1. Biomechanics, Molecular Biology and Human Movement Physiology. Students who have studied a Master´s degree in one of the Health Sciences branches or a Master's degree in Physical Activity and Sport Science. Likewise, it is advisable to have English skills - a B2 level, at least in reading English), as well as basic knowledge of statistics and how to use databases, and search for bibliographic sources.

Line 2. Public Health, Nursing and Medicine. Students who have studied a Master’s degree in one of the Health Sciences branches. Likewise, it is advisable to have English skills - a B2 level, at least in reading English), as well as knowledge of statistics and statistical packages which allow for the analysis of databases and search for bibliographic sources.

Line 3. Research in Psychology and Psychiatry. Graduates in Psychology, Medicine, Psycho-pedagogy or Education Sciences interested in both basic and applied research within the field of psychology and mental health. Likewise, it is advisable to have English skills - a B2 level, at least in reading English), as well as basic knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics, and statistical packages which allow for the analysis of research data.
