Research

There are four work areas in ISC:

• Data analysis and signal processing: Focused on analysing and extracting knowledge from various sources using mathematical and statistical techniques, including modelling, simulation, data mining, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence.
• Internet of things: Aiming to improve the functioning of future cities, factories, and homes through the use of millions of sensors, actuators, and devices that communicate with each other and with people to provide a better quality of life for inhabitants and a more efficient use of all resources.
• Sustainability and energy efficiency: Essential for making long-term developments viable without harming the natural environment on which we depend.
• Smart environments: The final result of the mentioned advances. The harmonious combination of ubiquitous and smart, based on limited resources, with people and societies that wish to use it.
