Who we are

The founding principle of the Institute is to foster and promote a multidisciplinary approach to address issues on biology applied to the agri-food, environment and health fields.

The actions focused on reaching the Institute’s goal are summarised as follows::

• To establish interaction mechanisms among research groups through community activities: discussion on research seminars, coordinated monitoring of Master’s degree and Doctoral students, etc.
• To establish collaborations to participate in projects with regional, national and international funding.
• To establish a self-assessing and reflection mechanism on the actions to develop in order to foster the research and external projection capacity of the Institute.
• To establish a communication and interaction channel between the Institute and its members, and the social environment.

The combination of scientific perspectives complementary for the study of issues and development of new applications in biology promotes more creative ideas and boosts new developments and paradigms in the agronomy, environment and health fields.
