Presentation
IMAB (Institute for Multidisciplinary Research in Applied Biology) aims to coordinate and boost research and train researchers on the fields of biology applied to the agronomy, environment and health fields, fostering a multidisciplinary approach, being the study and the application of processes and systems based on cells, organisms and communities their common link.
IMAB ultimately intends:
- To foster the development of a Bio-economy based on knowledge
- To improve competitiveness within companies of the health, agri-food, industrial and environmental sectors
- To take part in research activities which cover the four big areas of Biotechnology (agriculture, environment, health and industry)
- To participate in projects on biofuels production and development of cross-cutting tools which make it possible to move faster on these fields (development of new genetic engineering tools, bioinformatics, systems biology, etc)
