The Universidade de Tras-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) was the first higher education institution in Portugal's northern region. Founded in 1973 as an agricultural polytechnic school, it has evolved into a multifaceted university offering training in a variety of disciplines, with a strong focus on agricultural, veterinary, and environmental sciences, engineering, and health sciences.
Located in Vila Real, UTAD maintains a strong connection to its community and the region, supporting local development. Striving to build an Eco-University, it boasts an eco-campus with one of Europe’s largest botanical gardens.
The Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) offers high-level undergraduate and postgraduate Education and Research in Agricultural Science. Established in 1920, it is the third oldest university in Greece.
True to its traditional role of responding to the productive and developmental needs of the Greek economy and society, the AUA intervenes and develops in line with the development and orientation of modern education and science. Moreover, it is in continuous contact with society so as to make proposals and provide solutions to problems that arise within the agri-nutrition sector.
