This university microcredential addresses the growing need for training in the production of biological medicines. Developed by the University in collaboration with 3PBiovian, this online programme provides essential knowledge in biotechnology, analytical techniques, and industry regulations. Its design, aligned with the needs of the biopharmaceutical sector, enhances professional specialisation and supports the development of a strategic industry in Navarre. 

The course covers topics ranging from the scientific foundations of molecular biology to techniques for the production and quality control of biological medicines. It also explores regulation and future challenges in the sector, ensuring comprehensive and up-to-date training.

Admission profile:

This microcredential targets 3Pbiovian workers with ages between 25 and 64 years old.

If, after the admission process, there are still available spots, individuals under 25 or over 64 years old - at the start of the course - who meet the profile and access requirements may be admitted. These places will be assigned strictly in order of registration until the quota is filled.

Once access profile and requirements are met, admission will be based strictly on the order of registration. If the number of registered participants exceeds the number of available places, a draw will be held.

Outcomes:

  • To explain what a biological medicine is.
  • To understand the specific features of the industrial production of biological medicines.
  • To understand the molecular and cellular techniques required for the production of biological medicines.

Training goals:

  • To gain knowledge of the biological foundations underlying the production of biological medicines.
  • To understand industrial methodologies used in the manufacturing of biological medicines.
  • To become familiar with the key techniques involved in the production of biological medicines.

The material will be at the disposal of accepted candidates in the virtual site MiAulario so they can carry out the course between the aforementioned start and end dates.

The final grade will be determined based on the following weighting:

  • Final multiple-choice exam: 100 %

Obtaining the microcredential is subject to passing the enrolled ECTS credits, in accordance with Article 27 of the 
 Regulations Governing UPNA's Own Degree Programmes.

Standard Tuition Fee: € 420

Tuition fee with a discount: 

  • 126 € - 70% funded by European Funds for admitted participants who are between 25 and 64 years old at the start of the course.
  • 0 € - Additional 30% funded by 3Pbiovian for individuals who meet the admission profile and are between 25 and 64 years old at the start of the course.
