Dr. Diego Rivera has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Public Health, and a PhD in Psychology. He has published 80 peer-reviewed articles in indexed JCR journals. He is editor of 3 books, and co-author of 34 book chapters, published by recognized publishing in Europe and Latin America. Dr. Rivera was a guest editor of a special issue in the journal NeuroRehabilitation. 

Dr. Rivera has coordinated international studies and expanded his research lines via collaboration with national and international colleagues from Europe, the USA, Latin America, and India. For example, he and his colleagues carried out a multi-center study with 12.000 participants from 30 cities in 12 Latin American countries and Spain. In this study, normative data was provided for 13 commonly used Spanish-language neuropsychological tests in children and adults. Previously, clinicians and researchers used the English-language norms (as no Spanish-language norms were available), despite evidence that language and culture influenced performance. Also, Dr. Rivera and colleagues designed an online survey to gather data related to the state-of-the-art of training, practice, teaching, research, and ethics of neuropsychologists Through a large network of international contacts, versions of this survey have been translated into 10 languages and carried out in over 40 different countries. Results have been published in JCR journals and presented at relevant conferences.

Regarding teaching, Dr. Rivera has been invited to give 83 lectures at universities in Europe, the USA, and Latin America. He has taught post-graduate classes in masters and doctoral level psychology programs in Spain and Latin America. Dr. Rivera has received recognition from organizations in Colombia, the USA, and Spain. In 2017, he received The Regional Colombian Psychology Award from the Colombia Psychological Society. In 2014, he was awarded the Student Diversity Poster Award from the National Academy of Neuropsychology. He received a full-scholarship from the University of Deusto (Spain) for his doctoral studies and an additional scholarship for a 3-month internship at Virginia Commonwealth University in the USA. Dr. Rivera have proficient computer user of statistical software processing and graphing programs (e.g., SPSS and R) and Business analyst and project management skills.
