The Optical Communication and electronic applications group was established in 1994 within the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department of the Public University of Navarre, Spain. 24 staff members in addition to postdoctoral researchers and postgraduate students work within this group. Its research is based on the synergy of several lines:

• Optical Communications

• Fiber-optic sensors

• Optical nano-sctructured devices

• Electronics & communications Applications

Over the past five years, the group has published more than a hundred international JCR papers and seventy conference contributions in these topics, with several research projects supported by Spanish and Navarra Governments and European Union funding. Furthermore, various R&D projects have been jointly carried out with leading technology companies.
