Call for papers for a special volume of Operations Research for Health Care

Operational Research Applied to Health Services

We invite papers for a special volume of Operations Research for Health Care on Operational Research Applied to Health Services. This volume will be based on (but not limited to) the papers presented at the ORAHS'2016 conference held in Pamplona, Spain. You are invited to submit a paper by the end of November 2016.

The theme of this special volume will be "Making better health-care decisions in new oceans of health data". We welcome papers in the broad area of quantitative methods applied to health care. Papers dealing with problems by taking advantage of new technologies to collect and to process information are specially desired. Contributions from health policy decision makers and practitioners are welcome.

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Health care operations planning and scheduling
  • Logistics and supply chain management
  • Work-force staffing and planning
  • Patient flow modelling
  • Ambulance location and control
  • Emergency Department Models
  • Capacity planning and management
  • Location and transportation planning
  • Disease modelling and prevention
  • Risk management and patient safety
  • Organizational issues
  • Treatment design and planning
  • Epidemiology simulation and control
  • Drug selection and delivery

 All submitted papers will undergo the peer review processes normal for any high quality journal.

 

IMPORTANT DATES:

October/1/2016:  First submission date

December/30/2016: Deadline for the paper submission

January-September, 2017: Reviewing process

October/31/2017: Date for final decisions about publication

1st quarter 2018: Expected date for publication
