The ESA RN38 "Space, Society and Rurality" is a new Research Network of the European Sociological Association that aims to promote scientific exchange and collaboration between social scientists interested in the interactions within and across territories and their transformative capacity in rural areas. ESA RN38 is organising its Mid-term conference on 15 and 16 February 2024 at the Public University of Navarre, Pamplona, Spain. This event, entitled "Sustainability, Places and Social Justice: Enabling Well-being in Rural Areas across Europe", will provide participants with the opportunity to build and expand their scientific and research network, particularly on issues of sustainability, well-being, and social justice in rural Europe. The thematic focus and interdisciplinary approach will provide a fruitful forum for discussion between academics, researchers, and policy makers.
The organisers invite sociologists and a broad range of social scientists interested in rural issues and rural-urban relations by presenting local/regional case studies, theoretical developments, comparative analyses, policy studies, methodological approaches, etc. Publication opportunities will be considered following the event.
