I am a nurse (Public University of Navarre), Master’s degree in Public Health (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and PhD in Public Health (UPV/EHU).
Since 2007, I combined my healthcare activity in several services of the Health Service of Navarre-Osasunbidea, mainly in Primary Care, with my training and subsequent professional activity in public health. I worked in different regional and local administrations, collaborating on interventions and research projects in the field of health in all policies. My pre- and postdoctoral activity has been linked to the Research Group on Social Determinants of Health and Demographic Change (OPIK) of the UPV/EHU, developing academic, teaching and knowledge transfer activities, working with different administrations and social entities in the field of health promotion and health in all policies.
Currently, I am a professor in the Nursing Area of the Department of Health Sciences at UPNA. I teach in the Nursing Degree in the subject of Nursing Intervention Methods in the Community. At the postgraduate level, I teach in the Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teaching in the specialty of Health Processes. I also participate as a teacher in the Master's Degree in Public Health and the Master's Degree in Health Promotion and Community Health, both at the UPV/EHU.
My interest and lines of research have been specially oriented toward health promotion. Particularly, I have addressed aspects related to health governance and the incorporation of the perspective of health and health equity in public policies through intersectoral action. I am also interested in the study of social inequalities in health, participation in health and community action in health.
