Guadalupe Correa-Lopera is an Assistant Professor (with tenure-track) at the Department of Economics of the Public University of Navarre (UPNA). Before that she was a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow and a part-time Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics of the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence.
She holds a PhD in Economics from Universidad de Málaga (UMA) and Università degli Studi di Padova (UNIPD). During her PhD studies, she was a visiting student at University of Rochester. She graduated from Universidad de Málaga with a BS in Economics and received a MS in Economics Analysis from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M).
Guadalupe is a microeconomic theorist with a special interest in Political Economy. Her primary research agenda centers around the theoretical study and comparison of systems of direct democracy and representative democracy, by using the tools provided by Economic Theory, Social Choice, and Mechanism Design. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as European Journal of Political Economy and Economics Letters.
