He holds bachelor´s degree in Psychology and PhD in Clinical Neuropsychology by the University of Salamanca, a Master's degree in Functional Analysis and Behavior Modification by the Institute of Behavioral Sciences, and clinical experience accredited by the European Federation of Psychologists' Association (Europsy-European Certificate in Clinical and Health Psychology). He completed predoctoral stays at the University of Jyváskylä in Finland and Southeast Missouri State University in the USA, and postdoctoral stays at the Particular Technical University of Loja in Ecuador through the Prometeo Grant funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology Innovation of the Government of Ecuador and another postdoctoral stay at the Neuroscience and Animal Research Laboratory of the University of Seville and Johns-Hopkins University-Pompeu Fabra University-Public Policy Center (JHU-PFU-PPC) funded by the European NextGeneration-EU.
He has been a Professor of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Salamanca, teaching subjects such as Biological Foundations of Behavior, Psychopharmacology, Neuropsychology, Psychoneuroimmunology, and the Psychobiology of Addiction in the Psychology degree program. He was also Professor at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of the European University of Madrid, teaching subjects such as Psychopharmacology, Research Methods, Neuropsychology, Psychology of Learning, Psychology of Memory, Psychodiagnostics, Applied Psychosocial Sciences, Medical Humanities and Professional Practices in the degree programs of Psychology, Medicine, and Physiotherapy. He was visiting Professor at the Particular Technical University of Loja (Ecuador) teaching Psychopharmacology and Neuropsychology, Pomona College (USA) in Neuropsychology, the University of Coimbra (Portugal) teaching Clinical and Health Psychology, and the University of Seville teacing Psychology of Attention and Perception. At postgraduate leve, he has been invited Professor for the Master's Degree in Eating Disorder and Obesity Behavior and the Master's Degree in Research in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at the European University of Madrid and a Professor of the Master's Degree in Clinical and Health Psychology at the Particular Technical University of Loja (Ecuador).
He received the "Best Teacher Award" granted by the International Education Studies (IES) Abroad Foundation (2018), the "Beatriz Galindo/Gloria Begue Award for Excellence in Teaching" granted by the University of Salamanca (2019), the Excellence in Teaching Award granted by the Public University of Navarra (2022), and the Award for the best scientific publication in Psychology for young researchers at the University of Seville (2022).
Currently, he is Associate Professor at the Departament of Health Sciences at the Public University of Navarra where he teaches Learning and Memory and introductory courses to Psychology for the Bachelor´s degree in Psychology and Medicine. He is also the Principal Investigator of the "Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience" Research Group and the Institute of Health Research of Navarra (IdisNA) and Insitute for Advanced Social Research (I-COMMUNITAS). His main lines or topics of research are: stress and health, learning and memory, and funtional analysis of behavior.
