Begoña Elizalde San Miguel is a professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Work at the Public University of Navarra (UPNA).
Her research focuses on the study of the diversification of family forms from a gender equality perspective. In recent years, her studies have focused on: the reconciliation of work and family life, aging of the population, and the social organization of care.
She has a degree in Sociology from UPNA and a PhD in Sociology from the Carlos III University of Madrid, the university where she worked between 2009 and 2018. Previously, she developed her professional career in the field of social development and international relations, working in the United Nations Development Program, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, and the European Commission.
