English (short):

María Dolores Ugarte has a degree in Mathematics from the University of Zaragoza (1989) and a PhD in Mathematical Sciences (specialization in Statistics) from the Public University of Navarre (1996). She completed her postdoctoral training in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Simon Fraser University (Canada) (between 1997 and 1998). Since 2009 she is a full professor in the Department of Statistics, Computer Science and Mathematics at the Public University of Navarre. Her research focus on the general field of statistical modeling and spatial and temporal-spatial statistics with applications in many fields.  She has taught statistics subjects in several degrees, master, and doctorate degrees. She is the author of several teaching books. The last one, along with Alan T. Arnholt and Ana F. Militino, entitled "Probability and Statistics with R", Second Edition, published in the CRC / Chapman and Hall in 2016.
