Mª Camino Bueno Alastuey PhD holds a BA Degree and a Doctorate in English Philology from the University of the Basque Country. Currently, she holds a position as Associate Professor at the Public University of Navarre.
She has taught in diverse Faculties and Centres of the Public University of Navarre, where she has lectured on English for Specific purposes to students of various BA degrees such as Nursery, Agricultural Technical Engineering, Labour Relations, Teacher Education etc. Currently, she teaches “New Technologies Applied to Foreign Language Teaching” in the BA Degree in Teaching Education and in the Master’s Programme for Secondary Teacher Training.
Her research interests focus on the study of Information and Communication Technologies applied to Foreign Language Teaching and Testing. She has published research papers and chapters in books about that topic, including 12 articles in journals indexed in JCR (four of them Q1), and a further article in another journal indexed in ERIH. Furthermore, she has published 18 papers in other journals and 9 double blind-reviewed book chapters. She has also presented over 30 contributions to specialized and international conferences, five of which have been invited presentations. She has supervised both dissertations for the BA Degree in Primary and Nursery Education (TFG) and 20 dissertations for the Master of Secondary education. Finally, she regularly reviews journal articles for four journals indexed in JCR (Revista de Educación, Computer Assisted Language Learning, System e InJAL)
Regarding administrative work, she has been the Academic Secretary of the Department of Philology and Didactics of Languages since 2010, elected member of the University Senate since 2007, elected member of the Human and Social Sciences Faculty Board since 2012, and member of the University´s Works Committee since 2005. Currently, she is the Vice Dean of the Faculty for the BA in Primary Education
Dr. Bueno Alastuey has carried out research stays and projects at Tucson University (USA), University of California (USA), Jagiellonian University (Poland), the National University of Ireland at Galway, Cambridge University and Texas Tech University in the USA. She is also the academic coordinator of the mobility programmes signed between the Public University of Navarre and Roanoke College (USA), the Public University of Navarre and Jagiellonian University (Poland) and the University of Setubal. She is also the person in charge for the Strategic Asociation Erasmus+ project titled "Teachers of English for Future Europe (TEFE): EU mobility and employability project"
