Javier Fernández-Montalvo (Zaldibar, Vizcaya) is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Public University of Navarre (Spain) since 1997. He received his B.Sc. in psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) in 1992 and his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of the Basque Country (Spain) in 1998. Currently he is the head of the lab "Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology". He has published more than 150 articles and book chapters, as well as 7 books, mostly in the areas of addictive behaviours (both chemical and behavioural addictions), intimate partner violence, young offenders, suicide, and evaluation of intervention programmes. He has received seven awards related to his research contribution.
