Irantzu Uriz studied Chemical Engineering at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She developed her doctoral thesis within the Chemical Reactors research group of the Chemical Engineering area of the UPNA, under a grant for the Training of Research Staff of the FPI-MICINN Subprogramme (BES-2010-030021) of the Ministry of Science and Innovation. He completed a pre-doctoral stay at the Insitut de Tècniques Energètiques (UPC) in Barcelona in 2014 and finally obtained his PhD degree in 2015.
In 2016, she started working at the Cooperative Research Centre (CIC) energiGUNE as a postdoctoral researcher within the thermal energy storage research group. It is worth mentioning her participation in 2 European projects within the Horizon 2020 programme. During this period she taught Chemistry and Environmental Technology in several Engineering Degrees at UPNA as an Associate Professor.
Currently, and since September 2017, she works in the area of didactics of experimental sciences within the Department of Science of the UPNA teaching in the Bachelor's Degrees in Early Childhood and Primary Education and in the Master's Degree in Secondary Education in the speciality of physics and chemistry.
Her research work is mainly focused on improving teaching and learning processes in STEM disciplines, with a gender perspective. She is currently a member of the KIMUA (@kimua_dce) research group at the UPNA.
