He received a Bsc in Computer Science at Bordeaux University (France, 1986), a MSc in Knowledge Based Systems at Heriot-Watt University (Scotland, UK, 1989) and a PhD in Computer Science at Zaragoza Univversity (Spain, 2001).

Actually he works as a tenured lecturer in computer science at Public University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain.

Since 2000 he is also partial time lecturer at the Spanish Open University (UNED).

His interests include Graphics & multimedia, Artificial life, Technology & Education and Educational Robotics.

The last years (2007-10) h?? has been working on the European project TERECOP (http://www.terecop.eu/) whose goal was to develop a framework for educational courses that enables teachers to implement robotics-enhanced constructivist learning in schools classrooms, and to report their experiences.

Actually (2010-13) h?? is involved in another European Alfa project (Europe-Latinoamerica), GAVIOTA (http://www.alfagaviota.eu/); our aim is to explore issues of using Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Natural User Interfaces in several application areas; in the case of UPNA we explore Educational possibilities of such technologies.

He has been collaborating with FLL (First Lego League, http://www.firstlegoleague.org/) in Navarra, Spain and in Rovereto, Italy for organization and assessment purposes since 2008.

In the field of graphics, multimedia and artificial life he has published in The visual Computer, in IEEE transactions on Graphics in Computer & Graphics and in Kybernetes, all of them international journals from 1999 to 2006; during the same period he has published papers in several national and international conferences like the International Conference on cybernetics and systems, ACM International Symposium on Smart Graphics, IASTED CGIM or IASTED VIIP.

In the field of Educational Robotics he has been participating with publications in the more representative international conferences like Constructionism 2010 and 2012, Robotics in Education 2011 and 2012 or SIMPAR 2010.

In the field of Technology and Education he has participated in the publications of two books (the last one in Educational robotics) and he is currently publishing another one (about VR, AR and Natural User Interfaces for different application areas). As well he has participated in several international conferences related with eLearning like ECEL 2005, 2006, 2007 or ICEL 2009.

At Public university of Navarra he has been director of the area of International Relations and European Convergence from September 2006 to September 2008.

He has received a research grant from Education ministry of Spain to spend 4 months in University of Padova, Italy (October 2008-February 2009); the main purpose was to work on Educational Robotics at the Information Engineering department of this university.
