My research career starts in 1997 when I finished my studies in Mathematical Sciences at Universidad de Zaragoza (final mark 2.84 over 4). In 1998 I presented my bachelor thesis, for which I was awarded with premio Extraordinario de Licenciatura y Premio de Licenciatura García Galdeano (Extraordinary degree prize and García Galdeano degree prize). From May 1998 to September 2000 I was a predoctoral fellow in the Departamento de Matemática Aplicada (Applied Mathematics Department) of Universidad de Zaragoza. In the course 2000-2001 I got an (non-permanent) assistant professor position at University of Zaragoza. In January 2001 I defended my doctoral thesis, under the supervision of Prof. Javier Sayas. In October 2001, I joined Universidad Pública de Navarra, first to the former Departamento de Matemáticas, and next the Departamento de Ingeniería Matemática e Informática (Department of Mathematical and Computing Engineering), split from the first one. There I was profesor ayudante until September 2006 (assistant professor), and afterwards, profesor contratado doctor (associate professor) until March 2008, when I was promoted to Profesor Titular de Universidad (associate professor as a civil servant).

During these 17 years, I've been author and (much more often) coauthor of 24 research papers, with the following temporal distribution: 6 in 1998-2003, 8 in 2004-2009 and 11 from 2010 to the present (2014). I've published in 15 congress proceedings. My research is the result of collaborating with 14 national (spanish) and international coauthors and the obtained results have been presented in 39 international and 10 national scientific meetings. I spent 83 weeks (approx) in research stays, 40 in the Universidad de Zaragoza (with my former doctoral supervisor) and 43 in international centers (University of Bath, Max Planck Institute at Leipzig, University of Minneapolis, CALTECH, NJIT, University of Delaware and Colorado School of Mines) My main research lines are devoted to Boundary Element Methods with other lines running in parallel: numerical analysis of PDEs, Quadrature methods, Approximation Theory, et cetera. Currently, I'm collaborating with Prof. Ganesh (Colorado School of Mines) in interpolation problems on the sphere and n-sphere and quadrature rules derived from these interpolators with an ultimate interest in its applicability in numerical methods for stochastic problems. My work with Prof. C. Turc (NJIT) and Prof. Sayas (now at University of Delaware) is aimed at different aspects of Boundary Element numerical schemes, specifically, designing simple methods with sufficiently order of convergence for boundary element problems in 2D and high order methods for transmission problems in 2D and 3D. My collaboration with Bath University, with Prof. Ivan G. Graham, is addressed towards numerical simulation of acoustic scattering problems in high frequency domain and some auxiliary problems arising in this context. In the medium and long term, I'd want to branch out into new research topics as (a), in collaboration with Prof. Ganesh, stochastic problems on one side and coupling finite and boundary element spectral methods on the other side; (b) with Prof. Turc, fast computation of Dirichet-To-Neumann mappings for using in multiple scattering simulations.

Finally, I was member of the Scientific committee of the XVI Spanish-French Jacques-Louis Lions in Physics and Engineering which took place in 2014 in Pamplona.
