Since 2021 he is an Associate Professot in the Department of Statistics, Computer Science and Mathematics where he has carried out a large part of his professional work. He has worked at T-Mobil (Deutsche Telekom group) in Bonn (Germany) and at the Technological Institute of Informatics in Valencia (Spain) and has carried out research stays at McGill University (Montreal, Canada), Universidade do Minho (Braga, Portugal ), Università della Svizzera Italiana (Lugano, Switzerland) and Universität des Saarlandes (Saarbrücken, Germany).

His line of research is slave and highly available information storage systems and distributed systems, in general. He has published more than 70 scientific papers (conference proceedings and journal articles) and serves on numerous international conference program committees and is a reviewer for scientific journals. He has participated in national and European research projects with both public and private institutions.

As management positions, he has been between 2015 and 2019 Director of the International Relations and Cooperation Area of ​​the University. Right now (since 2019), he is the Coordinator of International Relations of Undergraduate and Postgraduate of Computer Engineering at the School of Industrial & ICT Engineering.
