Irene López-Goñi, Teacher from the Public University of Navarre on Teacher Training.

Irene López-Goñi has worked as associate lecturer at the Public University of Navarra from 1996 up to the present date. She graduated in Pedagogy from the University of the Basque Country and later obtained her PhD there with a thesis on the History of the Basque Schools in Navarra, which received a special award from the University's PhD Committee.

She is also head of pedagogy for an association of Basque Schools in Pamplona-Iruña and dynamic leader and co-ordinator of several work groups with school teachers and school heads. She has taken part in many congresses, both at home and abroad, on aspects of her main research areas, which are History of Education, Comparative Education and teacher training. She has published two books on these subjects as well as numerous articles. Two of her articles have appeared in English, one in History of Education and another in History of Education Quarterly.

She has been director of a research project financed by the Government of Navarra on the teacher training curriculum in various European countries.

Recently, on 2015 year has been published a book with a colegue which has the title: Hacia un cucrriculum guiado por las competencias. Propuestas para la acción.
