Seminario de investigacion: Basic dynamical aspects on b-Poisson singular geometries. Applications on celestial mechanics

Por Edward A. Turner

INAMAT2 organiza este seminario que se celebrará el 7 de marzo a las 12:00 en el Seminario 2, planta baja del edificio las Encinas, UPNA.

ABSTRACT:

The theory of singular symplectic and Poisson manifolds is an active research area, which has practical motivations on a number of fields. Among them, we have relevant examples in celestial mechanics and astrodynamics, whose Hamiltonian formulation fall under this category. In this talk, we briefly review some remarkable examples in the literature and present three new examples. Moreover, we investigate the dynamical consequences of having a problem formulated in a singular symplectic or Poisson geometry.

We will present three examples together with the role of the critical hypersurface in their dynamics. In particular, we will consider the spin axis evolution of two interacting bodies after averaging of all fast angles, a second problem considering a star, a non-spherical planet orbiting the star, and a satellite orbiting the planet. Finally, we will review the integrable example of the axial-symmetric free rigid body.
