Since 2021, he has served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics, Computer Science, and Mathematics, where he has built much of his professional career. Throughout his career, he has combined his academic vocation with significant experience in the industrial sector, having worked at T-Mobil, part of the Deutsche Telekom group, in Bonn (Germany), and at the Institute of Information Technology in Valencia (Spain). Additionally, his commitment to research has led him to academic stays at renowned international institutions such as McGill University in Montreal (Canada), Universidade do Minho in Braga (Portugal), Università della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano (Switzerland), and Universität des Saarlandes in Saarbrücken (Germany).
His research work spans both data science applied to marketing and related fields, as well as the study of distributed systems, specializing in the design of scalable and highly available information storage systems. He has published over 70 scientific works, including conference proceedings and journal articles, and is a member of program committees for various international conferences, in addition to serving as a reviewer for prestigious scientific journals.
In terms of academic management, from 2015 to 2019, he served as Director of the Office for International Relations and Cooperation at the university. Later, between 2019 and 2024, he assumed the role of Coordinator of International Relations for Undergraduate and Graduate Programs in Computer Engineering at the School of Industrial, Computer, and Telecommunications Engineering. Throughout his career, he has also participated in numerous national and European research projects, collaborating with both public and private institutions.
