Alejandro Ayuso-Díaz is a posdoctoral researcher Juan de la Cierva in Public University of
Navarra and is part of Institute for Advanced Research in Business and Economics (INARBE)
and Laureano Figuerola Institute of Social Sciences. He's been professor of Business and
Economic History at Carlos III University of Madrid, CUNEF and Public University of Navarra.
He's been visiting researcher at Institute of Economic Research at Hitotsubashi University of
Tokio and in the Departament of Social Sciences of Carlos III University of Madrid. He obtained
his PhD in Economic History in a joined program from Carlos III de Madrid, University of
Barcelona and University of Valencia in January 2021. He obtained a posdoctoral scholarship
Margarita Salas in 2021 and Juan de la Cierva in 2022, both from the Spanish Ministry of
Science. In the last year, he has published in The Economic History Review, Journal of the
Japanese and International Economies and Journal of Economic Integration among others.
His research interests are regional integration and colonial trade in East and Southeast Asia,
as well as business and economic history in the Japanese Empire. Nowadays he is part of
a national project directed by Antonio Tena Junguito. He has organized two editions of the
Congress Globalization and Growth in the History of East and Southeast Asia, as well as Work
in Progress Seminar in Carlos III University of Madrid.
