Activities for Secondary School students

Come and try it out

“Come and try it out” is a programme organised by the University’s School of Agricultural Engineers that lets students find out about the different fields that an agricultural engineer works in and familiarises them with how Technologies like GPS and satellites that are used in agriculture.

Some of the activities available are:

  • Bread making
  • Control your plants automatically
  • Try new soft drinks
  • Locate your house by satellite: this activity familiarised students with common practices, such as observing the Earth from satellites to forecast the weather, for example. In this activity, common satellite images are taken and, after learning a few concepts, students locate their homes and the Public University of Navarre campus.
  • Prepare your herbarium
  • Find out how a tractor Works
  • The topography student
  • Look after your plants without harming the environment: the objective is to ensure the appropriate use of phytosanitary products in line with the requirements of good agricultural practices, the Law of Vegetable Health and a concern to conserve the environment. This can be achieved by controlling the machines that apply these products.
