Por Antonio García, lecturer in finance at the Public University of Navarra and EMBA candidate at EAE Business School
INARBE organiza este seminario que se celebrará el día 5 de febrero de 2025 a las 12:00 en la Sala de Conferencias del Edificio Jerónimo de Ayanz.
Abstract: This study analyzes the factors influencing dividend policy in the Oil & Gas (O&G) industry, focusing on differences across sectors. Using a global sample of 203 independent O&G companies from 2000 to 2022, it employs statistical methods like OLS, random effects, logit, and probit models. The findings reveal that Brent oil prices and market shocks significantly impact dividend payouts, alongside factors such as leverage, liquidity, and profitability. Sectoral differences highlight varying determinants of dividend policies. By incorporating variables not previously studied, this research provides fresh insights, emphasizing the need to analyze independent O&G companies separately and paving the way for future studies.
Keywords: Corporate Dividends; O&G Companies; Crude Oil Prices; Sectoral Shocks.
