Ion is a senior consultant in Covance’s Market Access Services group based in London, where his main role is to develop health economics tools to support market access of pharmaceuticals and medical devices in countries around the world. He has a postgraduate in Health Management and in Statistics, and is currently completing his PhD in Health Economics with a focus on data analysis for the evaluation of healthcare resource use (e.g. prescriptions of pharmaceutical products).

Prior to joining Covance, Ion worked at Amgen’s Economic Modelling Centre of Excellence in Switzerland, where his role comprised the development of health economic models as well as the analysis of clinical trial data to inform these models (e.g. indirect treatment comparisons using patient-level data). Ion’s areas of work at Amgen included oncology, bone health and biosimilars. Prior to Amgen, Ion worked as a consultant at Costello Medical in Cambridge, UK.

In August 2019, Ion joined the Department of Economics of the Public University of Navarre to teach Introduction to Economics and Applied Economics.
