Resumen:
Novel anticancer drugs are needed due to the acquisition of resistance to the current ones along with its lack of selectivity, which results on deleterious side effects. Plants have been used in traditional medicine remedies for centuries and as a source of novel bioactive compounds. Nowadays, researchers have focused on the clinical potential of whole plant extracts rather than of isolated bioactive compounds due to the additive and/or synergistic effect observed. Moreover, plant-derived food waste can be used instead of fresh food to obtain therapeutic effect. Herein I’ll discuss the last results obtained on my research group regarding to the use of peach waste from food industry on a colon cancer model.
