How to arrive in Pamplona:

Pamplona is well connected with all the other towns in Navarre, and with the major cities in the neighbouring provinces. It is 407 km, or 254 miles from Madrid, 158 km or 100 miles from Bilbao and 92km or 58 miles from San Sebastian. It is the crossover point between the Autonomous Basque Country and the Ebro Valley. Its well maintained and varied transport network also connects the city to France; the A-15 Northern Motorway, or Autovía del Norte, means you can travel to San Sebastian in 45 minutes; and in a little over an hour you can be in Vitoria, if you take the N240A Sakana Motorway. These roads enable you to travel quickly to the international airports at Vitoria, Bilbao and Biarritz. There are also daily flights to Madrid and Barcelona from Noain Airport, which is six kilometres or four miles from Pamplona. You can also travel by train to and from Pamplona.
WE SUGGEST THAT YOU CONTACT THE TRANSPORTATION COMPANIES FOR POSSIBLE LAST MINUTE SCHEDULE CHANGES.

By car:

Pamplona is connected to a network of roads that leave the city in the direction of Huesca, Zaragoza, Logroño, San Sebastian and Irun. In fact long distance journeys, as well as those within the province, are usually made by the following roads:

- The N-121: Pamplona – Zaragoza road, runs alongside the A-15 as far as Tudela, in the south of Navarre.
- The A15: This motorway runs from the south of Navarre, forms part of Pamplona’s network of ring roads. To the north it passes Irurzun and goes to San Sebastian. To the south it connects with the Ebro Motorway (A-68), which leads, to the east, to Zaragoza and, to the west, to Logroño. This road also connect with the N-113 to Madrid
- The N-111: Pamplona - Logroño
- The N-240: Pamplona - Jaca
- The N-240-A: the Sakana motorway links Vitoria with Pamplona and San Sebastian, and also joins the A-15 motorway at Irurzun.
- The N-121-A: Pamplona – Behovia via Puerto de Velate
- The NA-135 Pamplona to France via Valcarlos.

San Sebastian and Vitoria to Pamplona

The best way to reach Pamplona from San Sebastian is to drive along the A15 motorway from San Sebastian passing by Irurzun, which is 30 km (20 miles) from Pamplona, and continuing along the A-15 Pamplona. If you are coming from Vitoria take the N240A, the Sakana Motorway, which also passes by Irurzun.

Castile and Galicia to Pamplona

If you are coming to Navarre from Castile, then drive along the N-1 Madrid – Irun road to Vitoria, and then join the N240A.
If coming from Galicia, then use the N-634 to Bilbao, where you join the motorway to Vitoria, and then the 240A to Pamplona.
If you are coming from or going to France then you would take one of the following routes:

N-121 A: Behovia -Pamplona
N-121 B: France to Pamplona via Baztan
N-135: France to Pamplona via Valcarlos
N 138 France to Pamplona via Alduides
A8, or the Behovia motorway, to San Sebastian and then the A15 to Pamplona

Pamplona has three ring roads; they are the northern NA-30, the eastern NA-32 and the western A15. They are known locally as the Ronda Norte, Ronda Este and the Ronda Oeste. The ring roads connect the towns surrounding Pamplona and the different suburbs to each other; and facilitate travelling between different parts of the city.

The northern ring road gives access to the districts of San Jorge, Rochapea, San Pedro, Chantrea and Magdalena.
The western ring road gives access to the districts of Mendebaldea, Echavacoiz, Iturrama, Abejeras and Azpilagaña; as well as the University of Navarre and the Public University of Navarre.

The eastern ring road gives access to the districts of Milagrosa and Ensanche.
To get to the Old Part and the district of San Juan, you have to cross one of the aforementioned districts. Which one, depends on where you enter Pamplona.

By plane:

Noain Airport (Tf. 948-168750/948-168700) is some six kilometres outside Pamplona, on the Zaragoza road. Nonetheless, there is a good road connection to Pamplona. There are regular flights from or to Barcelona and Madrid and each year 200,000 travellers use the airport. Below is the schedule of direct flights. This is an guiding list, another combinations are possible, we advice you to consult with VIAJES ARGA or to check in the IBERIA web

Next to Pamplona are the international airports of Bilbao and Biarritz. From Bilbao to Pamplona you can arrive by bus or by road (motorway Bilbao-Vitoria and motorway N240A Vitoria-Pamplona). From Biarritz to Pamplona, there is a good communication by road (Motorway Biarritz-San Sebastian and motorway A15 San Sebastian-Pamplona), but there is no direct public transport.

By bus:

The bus station, which is in the city centre, offers daily services to Alicante, Andalusia, Barcelona, Bilbao, Salou, Peñiscola, Gijon, Oviedo, Irun, Jaca, Jaen, Logroño, Madrid, San Sebastian, Santander, Soria, Vigo, Vitoria and Zaragoza; and there are daily services to important destinations in Navarre.
Around 2,200,000 passengers travel in the 80,000 buses which enter and leave the station annually.

MAP OF PAMPLONA AND LOCATIONS:

The site of the congress is a building of the Public University of Navarre known as "El Sario". It shares the same space with the UNED (the open university of Spain). So that, you can locate our site under both names: "El Sario" or UNED. You can see its location on this small map.

As you can see, El Sario is located in the south-east part of Pamplona, next to the official site of the Public University of Navarre. Click on the picture if you want to have a wider image of each part of the city.
