Statutory Committees


Central Electoral Board

This board is in charge of organising, overseeing, declaring the results of and resolving disputes concerning electoral processes at the Public University of Navarre.

Research Committee

This committee proposes guidelines for the university’s research, knowledge transfer and scientific policy within the framework of the strategic plan, the university's own research promotion programmes, calls for applications for scholarships and grants, together with their award, the monitoring and evaluation of the University’s groups and researchers’ research work, and the monitoring and evaluation of the effects of research promotion instruments.

Quality Committee

This is the ordinary body which advises regarding, proposes and, in the event, approves the development, implementation, updating and monitoring of quality-related actions which affect teaching, research and services. It coordinates the activities of the Schools and Faculties’ Quality Assurance Committees, particularly those whose aim is to ensure the regular accreditation of qualifications.

Language Planning Committee

This committee makes proposals for planning the use of Basque at the University and monitoring its language policy.

Access to Tenured Teaching Staff Committees

These committees deal with the competitive processes through which places on the Tenured University Teaching Staff are awarded. In order to do this, they must, in all cases, evaluate each candidate’s academic, teaching and research record, together with his/her teaching and research project, and confirm his/her capacities in the relevant subject or speciality. They should also take the work he/she has performed in the field of academic management, the quality of the work performed and his/her suitability for the type of tasks to be performed into consideration.

Tenured Teaching Staff Claims Committee

This committee examines any claims which interested parties may present against the proposals of the Public University of Navarre’s Access to Tenured Teaching Staff Committees.

Teaching and Research Staff Hiring Committees

These committees deal with the competitive hiring processes through which Teaching and Research Staff places in the categories of Assistant, Assistant Professor with PhD, Temporary Professor with PhD, Associate Professor and Professor with replacement teaching contract are awarded.

Teaching and Research Staff Hiring Claims Committee

This committee examines any claims which interested parties may present against the hiring proposals of the Hiring Committees at the end of selection processes for hiring non-tenured Teaching and Research Staff.

In the case of Temporary Professors with PhDs, the Tenured Teaching Staff Claims Committee performs this function.
