Breve CV

Lucía Martínez Virto es Doctora por la Universidad Pública de Navarra (2013), Diplomada en Trabajo Social (2006) y máster en Bienestar Social (2008). Igualmente cuenta con el título de Experta en Género por la UPNa (2009). Está vinculada a la Universidad Pública de Navarra desde el año 2009, primero como Investigadora en el grupo de investigación ALTER, después también como profesora en el área de Trabajo Social y Servicios Sociales. Desde el año 2019 es Directora del área de Acción Social e Igualdad de la universidad dentro del Vicerrectorado de Proyección Universitaria, Cultura y Divulgación.

A lo largo de estos años se ha especializado en el ámbito de las Desigualdades Sociales, las Políticas de Inclusión, el Trabajo Social y los Servicios Sociales. Ha realizado varias estancias de investigación y docencia en Kent-Reino Unido (2011), Turquía (2014), Portugal (2015), Perú (2016), Hungría (2017, 2018) y Holanda (2019). Cuenta con experiencia investigadora en 28 proyectos y contratos de investigación, siendo IP en 9 de ellos. Actualmente tiene activos los siguientes: "Emotional Films" (Gobierno de Navarra I+D, 2020-2022), "Alimentación para la infancia saludable, accesible y asequible, ALINFA" (Gobierno de Navarra I+D, 2019-2021); "Investing in Children: Politics, Policies and Outcomes (ECECWEL)" (MINECO, 2018-2022), “Informe sobre el impacto social de la crisis de la Covid-19” (Foessa, 2021) y “Procesos de reflexión y planificación estratégica de la Red navarra de Lucha contra la Pobreza y la Exclusión Social” (RNLPES, 2021)

Igualmente cuenta con experiencia en actividades de transferencia. Destaca su participación en el Plan de Inclusión de Navarra (2017), la Evaluación del nuevo modelo de atención primaria de Servicios Sociales en el Ayuntamiento de Pamplona (2018, 2019) o la Revisión del sistema de ingresos mínimos de España (MSSSI y UE, 2016). También ha sido investigadora de la Cátedra CIPARAIIS, participando activamente en sus dos informes sobre pobreza y exclusión social en Navarra (2012, 2015), y es miembro de la Cátedra Unesco, ambos centros de referencia en la proyección y acción social en Navarra. Del mismo modo es extensa su actividad en materia de difusión. Cuenta con dos artículos de divulgación científica (The Conversation, 2020), 28 ponencias en jornadas o eventos especializados, es miembro del comité de expertas del Alto Comisionado para la Lucha Contra la Pobreza Infantil (Gobierno de España, desde 2020), ha participado en 6 comités territoriales en calidad de experta en el área de Trabajo Social y Servicios Sociales y ha organizado un total de 13 reuniones científicas o jornadas orientadas a la acción social en Navarra.

Como resultado de esta actividad investigadora cuenta con 34 artículos de revista, 2 working paper, un libro con única autoría, coautora de 4 manuscritos y con 22 capítulos de libro. Igualmente ha participado como ponente en 16 eventos internacionales (workshops y congresos), ha coordinado cuatro paneles en congresos estatales y cuenta con 19 ponencias en congresos nacionales y autonómicos.

A nivel docente imparte docencia desde el año 2012 en el Grado de Trabajo Social y en el Máster en Intervención Social. Del mismo modo es la Directora Académica del Diploma de Especialización en Intervención Social con Familias, Infancia y Adolescencia. Es responsable de movilidad con las Universidades Eotvos Lorand (Budapest, Hungría) y Perugia (Italia). Cuenta también con experiencia docente en máster en otras universidades y con la dirección de Trabajos Fin de Grado, Trabajos Fin de Máster y una tesis doctoral (2017).

Lucía Martínez Virto has a PhD, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (2006) and a Master's in Social Welfare (2008) from the Public University of Navarra (UPNA, 2013). She also holds the degree of Expert in Gender by the UPNA (2009). She has been associated with the Public University of Navarra since 2009, first as a Researcher in the ALTER research group, then also as a professor in the area of ​​Social Work and Social Services. Since 2019, she is the Director of the Social Action and Equality area of ​​the university, within the Vice-Rector’s Office for University Communication, Culture and Outreach.

Throughout these years, she has specialized in the field of Social Inequalities, Inclusion Policies, Social Work and Social Services. She has done several research and teaching residences in Kent-United Kingdom (2011), Turkey (2014), Portugal (2015), Peru (2016), Hungary (2017, 2018) and the Netherlands (2019). She has research experience in 28 projects and contracts, being the Primary Researcher in 9 of them. She is currently active in the following research projects: "Emotional Films" (Government of Navarra I + D, 2020-2022), "Food for healthy, accessible and affordable children, ALINFA" (Government of Navarra I + D, 2019-2021) ; "Investing in Children: Politics, Policies and Outcomes (ECECWEL)" (MINECO, 2018-2022), "Report on the social impact of the Covid-19 crisis" (Foessa, 2021) and "Processes of reflection and strategic planning of the Navarrese Network to Fight Poverty and Social Exclusion ”(RNLPES, 2021).

She also has experience in translating academic work into policymaking. Examples of this experience include her participation in the Navarra Inclusion Plan (2017), the Evaluation of the new model of primary care in the Social Services system of the Pamplona City Council (2018, 2019) or the Review of the Spanish minimum income system (MSSSI and EU, 2016). She has also been a researcher for the CIPARAIIS Chair, actively participating in its two reports on poverty and social exclusion in Navarra (2012, 2015), and is a member of the UNESCO Chair, both centers of reference in dissemination and social action in Navarra. Similarly, she has extensive experience in the field of scientific dissemination. She has published two scientific dissemination articles (The Conversation, 2020) and 28 presentations in specialized conferences or events; she is a member of the committee of experts of the High Commissioner for the Fight Against Child Poverty (Government of Spain, since 2020); she has participated in 6 territorial committees as an expert in the area of ​​Social Work and Social Services; and she has organized a total of 13 scientific meetings or workshops aimed at social action in Navarra.

As a result of this research activity, she has authored 34 journal articles, 2 working papers, 22 book chapters, a single-authorship book, and she has co-authored 4 manuscripts. She has also participated as a speaker in 16 international events (workshops and congresses). She has coordinated four panels in state congresses and has 19 presentations in national and regional conferences.

At the teaching level, she has been teaching classes since 2012 in the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and the Master’s Degree in Social Intervention with Individuals, Families, and Groups. Additionally, she is the Academic Director of the Diploma of Specialization in Social Intervention with Families, Childhood and Adolescence. She is responsible for student transfer agreements with Eotvos Lorand (Budapest, Hungary) and Perugia (Italy) universities. She also has teaching experience in master's degrees at other universities and in supervising End of Degree projects, End of Master's projects and a doctoral dissertation (2017).
