a. Academic background

In 1993 I completed a five-year degree in Mathematical Sciences at Universidad de Zaragoza. In 1998 I obtained a PhD in Mathematics from Universidad Pública de Navarra. I received the Doctoral Thesis Prize by Universidad Pública de Navarra in Basic Science and Health Science corresponding to the academic years 1996/97 and 1997/98. I obtained a grant from Gobierno de Navarra for a six-months research stay at Leiden University (The Netherlands).

b. Teaching

My teaching activities have been mainly carried out in the School of Agricultural Engineering and Biosciences and in the School of Industrial & ICT Engineering. Nevertheless, I have also taught in other Schools and have even instructed subjects addressed to all the students in campus.

c. Professional experience

In October 1996 I joined Universidad Pública de Navarra as part-time Associate Lecturer of Applied Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Informatics of the time. In October 1999 I became Lecturer in Applied Mathematics. Finally, in October 2000 I became Senior Lecturer in Applied Mathematics, that is my present position.

d. Research lines and activities

My research area is Applied Mathematics and, specifically, differential equations, dynamical systems and celestial mechanics. Since 1996 I have participated in research projects funded by public agencies. I was the Lead Researcher of a project funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain. At present I participate in a project financed by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain. I have published around 70 papers in indexed journals and around 48 in other journals or books. I have around 192 participations in scientific Workshops. I have been co-supervisor of 3 doctoral thesis. I have spent around 3.5 years in other research centres and universities.

c. University management activities

From 2008 to 2012 I was Deputy Head of the then School of Agricultural Engineering. At present, together with Joan Torregrosa, I am Director of the DANCE (Dynamics, Attractors and Nonlinearity: Chaos and Stability) network.
