Contents
Economics of poverty and inequality is studied at the intersection of economic theory, empirical applications and policy implications. Curving inequality and poverty are the result of the complex interaction between economic policies and social norms, including institutions. From this perspective, the study of poverty and inequality has a very broad meaning and, therefore, this course will deal with issues ranging from poverty in health or education to inequality in access to labor and financial markets, and specifically includes the design and evaluation of social development programmes. Each of the topics is gender-sensitive by taking into account the role of sex, age, ethnic or religious group, as well as their intersectionality.

Conocimientos o contenidos:
RA03: Explicar las funciones de los agentes económicos y el papel de las instituciones en la actividad económica y social en sus diferentes niveles territoriales (desde las instituciones locales hasta los organismos internacionales).
RA04: Identificar los principales instrumentos de intervención pública y relacionar las recomendaciones de política con la sostenibilidad económica, medioambiental y social.
RA05: Identificar y analizar los factores históricos, sociales e institucionales que condicionan los procesos económicos.
RA06: Identificar y anticipar problemas económicos relevantes en relación con la asignación de recursos en general, tanto en el ámbito privado como en el público.
RA09: Identificar y reconocer las fuentes de información económica relevante y su contenido.
Habilidades o destrezas:
Al finalizar el Grado, el alumnado será capaz de:
RA1O: Derivar de datos económicos y sociales información relevante difícil de reconocer por no profesionales.
RA11: Utilizar criterios profesionales para el análisis económico, preferiblemente aquellos basados en el manejo de instrumentos técnicos.
RA12: Realizar una buena gestión de la asignación de recursos tanto en el ámbito privado como en el público.
RA13: Aplicar racionalidad al análisis y a la descripción de cualquier aspecto de la realidad económica.
RA14: Evaluar las consecuencias de distintas alternativas de acción y seleccionar las mejores dados los objetivos.
RA17: Elaborar informes y transmitir ideas sobre cualquier materia económica, con claridad y coherencia, a un público tanto especializado como no especializado.

Al finalizar el Grado, el alumnado será capaz de:
RA18: Trabajar en equipo, siendo capaz de argumentar sus propuestas y validar o rehusar razonadamente los argumentos de otras personas.
RA19: Organizar el trabajo, en cuanto a una buena gestión del tiempo, ordenación y planificación del mismo.
RA20: Seleccionar y generar la información necesaria para cada problema, analizarla, y tomar decisiones en base a la misma
RA21: Valorar el compromiso ético, social y medioambiental en el ejercicio profesional.
RA22: Seguir aprendiendo en el futuro de forma autónoma, profundizando los conocimientos adquiridos o iniciándose en nuevas áreas de conocimiento.
