General proficiencies

CB2: Students can apply their knowledge to a job or vocation in a professional manner and have the competences which are generally shown through the elaboration and defence of arguments and problem solving in their field of study.

Up

Specific proficiencies

  •  CE5: Understanding and mastery of the basic concepts of the general laws of mechanics, thermodynamics, fields, waves, electromagnetism, and their application to solving engineering problems.
  •  CG2: Adequate knowledge of the physical problems, technologies, equipment, and water and energy supply systems, the limits imposed by budgetary factors and building regulations, the relationships between installations and/or buildings with farms, agro-food industries and spaces related to gardening and landscaping with their social and environmental surroundings, as well as the need to relate those surroundings from that environment with human needs and environmental protection.

Learning outcomes

¿ R1- Understand and use the fundamental principles of Mechanics,Thermodynamics and Electromagnetism in the analysis and solution of problems related with subjects of upcoming courses.
¿ R2- Identify and evaluate those physical aspects related with Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Electromagnetism in problems and activities in the engineering context.
¿ R3- Use and relate the different measurement units of the main physical magnitudes of Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Electromagnetism.
¿ R4- Use the appropriate instruments for the determination of relevant physical parameters in Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Electromagnetism.

¿ R5- Conveniently document the measuring process regarding its basic principles, instrumentation and limits of applicability.

Evaluation

Ordinary evaluation.

The ordinary evaluation of this matter will consist of two written exams and the work done in the Laboratory Sessions.

The Laboratory Sessions are mandatory and their marks cannot be compensated in the Make up exam.

Criteria Instrument Weight (%) Make up exam
 R1, R2, R3  Written exam. (Lessons 1, 2, 3)  34  Yes
 R1, R2, R3  Written exam. Lessons 4,5,6,7,8)  51   Yes
 R3, R4, R5  Laboratory Sessions  15  No

 Make up Exam.

The make up exam will consist of a single written exam of all the contents of this matter (Lessons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)

The mark from this make up exam will be 85% of the final mark of this matter.

The remaining 15% will correspond to the marks obtained in the work previously done in the Laboratory Sessions.
