The main objectives are:
1. To provide the student with the necessary knowledge to interpret the economic reality both at national and international level.
2. To offer to the student a set of tools to analyse economic variables and on the relations of the economic system.
3. To train the student in the use of economic vocabulary, used by national and international agencies that produce statistics and economic reports.
4. To familiarize the student with the statistical information that national and international organizations offer through the web. For this reason, the student will have to search and interpret conjunctural economic information present in numerous web pages, both public and private
The contents of the subject are structured in two parts:
1. Tools of economic reality analysis: the system of national accounts and the input-output tables. The concepts studied and the information used will refer to the Spanish and the EU economy.
2. Study of economic problems relevant to the world economy: economy and development, economy and environment, economy and demography, economic globalization

SP01 Understand economic institutions as a result and application of theoretical or formal representations about how the economy works.
SP02 Identify the sources of relevant economic information and their contents.
SP05 Issue advisory reports on specific situations of companies and markets.
R_EC_06. National and international economic analysis, productive sectors, public sector, economic institutions and their evolution.
R_EC_07. Macroeconomic analysis of a country's economy and its evolution over time.
R_EC_08. Use of international databases on development, population and environment, and analysis derived from them.
The teaching methodology differentiates theoretical and practical classes, since both have different objectives. Thus, three different methods are contemplated.
A) Attendance: individualized attention of each student in the place and time that is designated for it. Through this route, students can ask questions of a different nature: doubts, resolution of questions and practices in addition to those carried out in the classroom, extension of bibliography or material related to aspects treated in the classroom.
B) Online tutoring: the development of computer applications and the generalization of their use has provided the basis for the creation of computer platforms that are used as tools to support teaching. In this sense, the UPNA has the known as "Miaulario". This platform also allows personalized attention of the student through various tools, such as e-mail or forums.
