Seminario de investigación: Applications of mixed oxides derived from Layered Doble Hydroxides (LDH) in catalysis

Por Ramón Moreno Tost, Universidad de Málaga

INAMAT2 organiza este seminario que se celebrará el día 10 de junio a las 12:00h. en la sala de conferencias del edificio Jerónimo de Ayanz.

Breve resumen:

Layer double hydroxides (LDH) and the mixed metal oxides generated from their thermal decomposition have found many applications in the fields of adsorption and catalysis, among others, due to the wide spectrum of metallic compositions, and versatility in tailoring the acid-base properties. Most LDHs adhere to the general chemical formula: [MII1−xMIIIx(OH)2]x+–(An−)x/n·3H2O, where MII represents any divalent metal cation, MIII any trivalent metal cation, and An− an anion (inorganic or organic). The thermal decomposition of LDH leads to a high-surface-area mixed oxide with strong O2− Lewis basic sites. In this presentation, it will be shown some of the basic based-reactions conducted in our laboratory to explore the potential applications of such solids in the valorization of biomass.
