GRANTS JOINTLY SUPERVISED THESIS FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS

Application period: 13-26 April 2021 (14.30 Peninsular Spain time)

PURPOSE

8 grants to carry out official doctorate studies under joint supervision between Public University of Navarra and a foreign university.

All doctorate programmes of UPNA may be eligible.

REQUIREMENTS

Those students who meet the following requirements may be awarded the grant:

  1. To not be resident in Spain on the deadline to submit applications.
  2. To have requested admission into a Doctorate programme of UPNA.
  3. To have requested EDONA authorisation to carry out a jointly supervised thesis.
     

DEADLINES

Application period: 13-26 April 2021 (14.30 Peninsular Spain time)

REGISTRATION

1. Register To obtain your password.
You will receive and e-mail with your password and a link to finish your application.
2. Online application The user name is the passport or ID card number you have used to register.
  3. Attach
  1. Photocopy of ID card, Foreigner ID card or Passport.
  2. Proof of admission into a EDONA Doctorate programme, or copy of the application.
  3. Proof of admission to carry out the thesis under joint supervision, or copy of the application.
  4. Whenever appropriate, list of indexed articles jointly written by the directors of both universities, identified in the proposal of joint supervision agreement.
  5. Whenever appropriate, proof of being receiving a pre-doctoral grant unconnected to UPNA, or work contract with the partner university.
  6. Proposal of time planning of the stays in UPNA throughout the three years of the thesis, according to the form.
  7. Certification of place of residence.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  1. Mobility with the university of origin: 25 points will be granted to the applicant whose university of origin has exchanged most students of any cycle with UPNA in the last five years. The rest of applicants will receive the proportional points according to the same criterion.
     
  2. Researching collaboration between the teachers suggested for the thesis supervision: 25 will be granted to the applicant whose thesis supervisors present the highest number of jointly written indexed research papers. The rest of applicants will receive the proportional points according to the same criterion.
     
  3. Researching collaboration between both universities: 25 points will be granted to the applicant whose university of origin presents the highest record of indexed researching collaborations with UPNA in the last 10 years. The rest of applicants will receive the proportional points according to the same criterion.
     
  4. Co-funding of the thesis: 25 point will be granted to those applicants who prove that they are receiving a grant or pre-doctoral contract granted by an entity unconnected to UPNA, and which covers all the thesis period, or which prove they are teachers of the university of origin. The rest of the applicants will not be granted any points in this section.

LIST OF ACCEPTED AND SELECTED CANDIDATES

OBLIGATIONS OF GRANTED STUDENTS

  1. To continue being a Doctorate student of Public University of Navarra during all the period of the grant (academic year 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024).
  2. To meet the requirements to remain in the doctorate, as well as the rules established on the joint supervision agreement.
  3. To be subject to the appropriate verification actions to check, when necessary, that the aforementioned obligations and demanded requirements to receive the grant are met.
  4. In the case of staff from the university with which UPNA signed the joint supervision agreement, do not teach or carry out administrative tasks in the university of origin during the stay periods at UPN
