Assistant Professor Abián B. Socorro owns a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (2010), a M. Sc. in Biomedical Engineering (2012) and a PhD in Engineering (2015) by the Public University of Navarre (PUN) with mentions "Cum Laude" and "International". Since July 2015 he is accredited as Lecturer, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor of private university, according to the Spanish Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation.
After several contracts at PUN, he was a recipient of both Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships at the same university. He currently works as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at PUN, in the area of Electronic Technology. He also participates in the biomedical engineering area at the Institute of Smart Cities (ISC-PUN) and is a member of the Spanish Society for Biomedical Engineering (SSBE - SEIB).
Since 2013/2014 course he has been teaching different subjects related to communications and electronic circuits in the Bachelor's Degrees in Telecom Engineering, Computer Sciences, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Industrial Engineering. In addition, he gives clasees of medical imaging, biosensors and nanotechnology in the M. Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering and in the M.Sc in Biomedical Engineering. He has been also co-advisor of a final degree project in the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and has been a jury member of a final degree project in the Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering.
He has been participating in 15 research projects: 4 of the Spanish Research Plan, 8 with regional or Regional -European funding, 2 R&D projects with private entities and a consortium between the universities of Campus Iberus.
In terms of scientific production, is co-author of a total of 50 Spanish and international scientific contributions: 4 book chapters, 23 articles (17 in Q1 and Q2) and 23 conferences. Most of them are collected in Google Scholar and ResearchGate. He is also co-inventor of a Spanish Patent and a utility model, both granted, and an European Patent application. He has also been a promoter of Eversens S.L. PUN's spin-off in 2015, as a result of the research carried out at the group of Optical Communications and Electronic Applications PUN.
