This workshop intends to get a deep insight in a range of theoretical and applied aspects related with the theory of Hamiltonian systems. Theoretical issues include stability of special solutions of the Hamilton equations, analysis of bifurcations, averaging and normal form theories or the study of collisions and integral manifolds of the N-body problem, subjects in which Ken Meyer has been a pioneer. Applications appear in Celestial Mechanics, Astrodynamics, Physics or Chemistry.

The discussion of the existence of periodic and quasi-periodic motions for the N-body problem using averaging and KAM theorems is an issue to deal with in the workshop. The combination of KAM theory with normal forms techniques and averaging theory treated from a geometric point of view are essential tools in the reconstruction of the flow.  Other topics include the reduction of Hamiltonian systems with symmetries or the study of central configurations in the N-body problem. In all these areas, Professor Meyer has made substantial contributions. Issues, such as the topological and variational methods in the N-body problem, geometric mechanics or the stability of periodic solutions, will be also covered in the conference.
