Competencias básicas

CB2 Que los estudiantes sepan aplicar sus conocimientos a su trabajo o vocación de una forma profesional y posean las competencias que suelen demostrarse por medio de la elaboración y defensa de argumentos y la resolución de problemas dentro de su área de estudio.

Learning outcomes

 Los resultados de aprendizaje son la concreción de las competencias que el estudiante adquirirá en la materia. Se establecen tres niveles:
- Óptimo: adquisición del 100% de las competencias y maestría en al menos el 75% de ellas.
- Medio: adquisición de la mayoría de las competencias pretendidas en la materia y maestría en aquellos aspectos que contribuyen a las competencias específicas del título.
- Deficiente: insuficiente adquisición de los aspectos que contribuyen a las competencias específicas del título.
Un estudiante obtiene una calificación de APTO si el nivel de aprendizaje es óptimo o medio.

Languages

-This course (both its theoretical and its practical classes) is taught in English Language, so the language of communication among students and teacher(s) will always be the English language. All assessment tasks, oral presentations and assignments will be carried out in English. The recommended bibliography will be in English as well.

-La asignatura (teoría y práctica) se imparte en Lengua Inglesa, por lo que la lengua de comunicación  entre el alumno y el profesor será el inglés. Todas las pruebas, exposiciones orales y trabajos de la asignatura se realizarán en inglés. La bibliografía también está en inglés.

Conocimiento tanto teórico como práctico de la Lengua Inglesa a nivel de usuario competente C1 (dominio operativo eficaz), nivel de referencia desarrollado por el Consejo de Europa definido en el Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas. Desarrollo de la competencia comunicativa oral y escrita en Lengua Inglesa.

Practical and theoretical knowledge of the English Language at an advanced C1 level, proficient user (effective operational proficiency or advanced), as specified by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CFRL). Development of oral and written communicative competences in English language.

Pronunciation: using a dictionary, the rhythm of spoken English, sound-spelling relationships, word stress with suffixes, words and phrases of French origin, stress in word families, consonant clusters, vowel sounds (/¿:/, /æ/ and /¿/, /¿/, linking in short phrases, US and UK accents, main and secondary stress, pronunciation of ¿ure, homophones and homographs, words with silent syllables.

Listening: A variety of extended recordings representing a wide range of speech situations, activities, styles and accents (both belonging to colloquial and formal English).

Reading: A variety of extended texts adapted from a variety of real sources (newspapers, magazines, the Internet) and different tasks that will help students understand better.

Writing: A selection of complex, extended tasks focused on varied text types (a letter of application, an article, a review, a discursive essay, a report, etc.) that will promote grammar consolidation and appropriate use of the vocabulary taught in each unit.

Speaking: A range of communicative activities related to the topics of each lesson as well as oral tasks on specific topics assigned throughout the course.
