General proficiencies

CB1 - Students should have exhibited knowledge and comprehension in an area of study that starts at the basis of general secondary education, which is generally at a level that, while it is supported by advanced textbooks, also includes some aspects that involve knowledge taken from the forefront of their field of study.

Up

Specific proficiencies

  • CG2 -To be able to express, discuss and provide adequate arguments about the aspects of the degree, propose new questions, integrate them into the appropriate context and generate an advance in scientific and professional knowledge.

  • CG3 -To have experimental and analytical skills to work with autonomy in a laboratory being able to set up experiments and to describe, analyze, assess and interpret and understand the obtained information in order to propose alternative and novel solutions to known and/or emerging problems.

  • CE6 - To control the molecular, cellular, physiological, genetic and inheritance of genes that define the structure, functionality and integration of living organisms and their interaction with the natural environment.

Up

Learning outcomes

  • RA5. To integrate the molecular, cellular and physiological background at the cellular level for the functionality and the integration of pluricellular organisms.

  • RA6. To understand the main processes of animal and human physiology, integrating the functioning of tissues and organs and the signaling systems at the organism level

  • RA7. To understand the main processes of plant physiology, integrating the functioning of tissues and organs and signaling systems at the organism level

  • RA8 To understand the main processes of plant physiology, by integrating the functionality of tissues and organs with the signal systems at the organism level

Evaluation

Learning
outcome
Assessment
activity
Weight (%) It allows
test resit
Minimum
required grade
RA5, RA6, RA7, RA8 Individual written test 50* YES 5
RA5, RA6, RA7, RA8 Oral presentations. Group Project  30 NO 0
RA5, RA6, RA7, RA8 Tests and individual reports of experimental work 20 NO 0

If the student did not get the minimum grade to weigh in any of the activities, the grade of the subject would be 4.9 out of 10 at most (fail).

  * The exams include the concepts acquired and a minimum passing score of 5 over 10 is required in both animal physiology and plant physiology and organography. Students with scores lower than 5 over 10 need to take a recovery exam
Multiple written tests will be taken throughout the semester to allow an ongoing assessment of student progress. In case of switching to a virtual teaching mode, these tests will be performed with the "Exams" tool in Miaulario. Individual and group assignments throughout the semester can be submitted online
