El Rector and the Board of
Directors
The Rector is the senior academic authority in the University and upholds
its representation. He is elected directly by the University community
by free and secret universal suffrage by active University chaired professors
currently employed by the Public University of Navarre. His mandate lasts
for four years.
Voting for the election of the Rector will be weighted according to sectors
of the University community: lecturers with a PhD belonging to the University
teaching staff (54%), the rest of the teaching and research staff (18%),
students (20%) and administration and services staff (8%).
The Rector is responsible for representational tasks, such as presiding
over University functions, management undertakings, such as convening
and presiding over the Staff and Board meetings and implementing their
agreements and those of the Social Council, convening selection processes
for filling places and appointing and contracting teaching staff and the
University's administration and service personnel. Degrees and diplomas
are also issued in his name.

Board of Directors: The Board of Directors
is the organ that assists the Rector in carrying out the competences which
have been conferred upon him. It is made up of the Rector, who presides
over it, the Vice-Rectors, the General Secretary and the Bursar.
In addition, the Rector has named several deputies
to assist him with specific tasks.
