Hugo López López is a Doctor of Law from Madrid’s University of Carlos III (2007). He earned the Extraordinary Doctorate Award and the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s Tax Studies Institute Prize (2008). He is currently under contract as Professor (with PhD) of Financial and Tax Law, and is accredited as a Tenured Professor.
His main lines of research include European Union and international taxation, tax-related offences and the theory of tax subjectivity. He has completed a range of research residences abroad at several of the centres of greatest prestige in his specialist field and has taken part in numerous research projects run by the National Plan and other public programmes, leading at one stage a project funded by what was at the time the Ministry of Economy and Finance. He also collaborates with different public and private institutions within the framework of art. 83 LOU (Organic Law on Universities) contracts and has co-led a development cooperation project.
In the field of academic management, he has been Secretary of the Department of Public Law (November 2013 to June 2015) and Head of International Relations and Cooperation (January 2014 to June 2015).
