Cristina Bayona Sáez (Pamplona, Navarre, 1966) has a first-cycle degree in Business Studies and a second-cycle-degree in Economics and Business Sciences from the University of Zaragoza, and a PhD in Business Administration and Management from the Public University of Navarre.
A Tenured Professor of Business Organisation, she has taught in the Department of Business Administration at the UPNA since 2003, although her teaching career started there in 1993 as Associate Professor. In 1999, she spent time as a visiting researcher at the University of Carlos III in Madrid.
Her main research interests centre on the study of innovation management from different perspectives: innovation systems, public policy analysis, innovation cooperation and Open Innovation. She has published some thirty articles in these fields, many of which have appeared in indexed journals. Her research has been carried out as part of 8 research projects funded through regional, national and European calls for proposals, featuring as the researcher in charge of the project funded by the European Union. She has co-supervised one doctoral thesis and is currently co-supervising a further one which is still in progress.
Her academic management posts have included: member of the Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences, Deputy Head of the Department of Business Administration and member of the Management Committee of the University Business Creation Laboratory. She was the Vice-rector of Research’s Head of Knowledge Transfer from 2008 to 2015.
